Attorney Profiles

Shannon Elkins received her undergraduate degree, summa cum laude, from the University of Minnesota, Twin Cities Campus. In 2003, Shannon graduated with honors from the University of Minnesota Law School.

During law school, she gained valuable experience as a law clerk for the Hennepin County Public Defender's Office. Shannon had the unique experience of combining real cases and legal issues with the textbook law that was studied at law school.

Upon graduating from law school, Shannon accepted a position as an attorney at the Public Defender's Office, where she worked on the Adult Felony Trial Team. While on the Trial Team, She was exposed to the full spectrum of criminal cases.

Shannon has handled hundreds of cases from arraignment, bail argument and evidentiary hearing through trial. Unlike many private attorneys, Shannon has handled cases ranging from misdemeanor theft and assaults to homicide.
